Minecraft coming soon from developer Mojang Minecraft Dungeons will focus on the exploration elements of their flagship title and add new items, weapons and equipment to the game. There will be no mining or construction, but there will be a story for players to experience by traveling through various locations in single player or cooperative mode, which supports up to four players.
The game already has an official April 2020 release window and will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
There have been a few trailers and short gameplay videos available online, but you might have missed some of the juicy treats we’re about to cover, even if you’ve seen them all already.

The game will have currency that can be used to purchase items. You can find emeralds and other gems inside crates, which you can find all over the world and smash them.
That’s why it’s so important to explore every nook and cranny, because you never know what you’ll find inside. This way, Mojang will encourage players to explore the map as deliberately as possible.
In-game currency like gems will be the only real currency in Minecraft Dungeons and there will be no microtransactions.
Procedurally generated world
The world map is procedurally generated, but not entirely. Apparently some aspects of the map will be static, such as story-related locations. But the rest of the world will have a unique quality every time you log in to play.
This means that players will be able to return to previous locations where they were before and find a completely different layout of the map with a totally different set of crates. This guarantees a high level of replayability of Minecraft Dungeons.
Bringing characters to life
One of the best things about the game in co-op mode is that players can revive themselves after being killed by monsters. Anyone who’s played a game but couldn’t relive in a stage knows how frustrating that is.
If you’re playing solo, you need to be constantly aware of your health pool and carry enough healing items to be able to survive the harsh environments of Minecraft Dungeons. That’s fine, though.
No classes or abilities
One of the most surprising aspects of this RPG game is the complete absence of a class system or ability distribution. This means that there are no objects in the game that can only be attached to a specific class. If you have found an item you want to equip, you will be able to do so and gain its benefits.
This universal approach also applies to enchantments, which you can distribute as you wish without any class restrictions. This will open up plenty of possibilities for a wide variety of builds that are sure to delight many fans of the game.
Along with no class restrictions, you’ll encounter an element of RNG, especially when it comes to items and enchantments.
For example, if you have found an item and open it in your character window, you will notice that it contains a random number of enchantments. Then you can choose which attachments you want to keep.
However, whenever you pick up a particular item, don’t expect it to have the same enchantments. Players will be challenged to pick up every item they find on the ground and check whether or not they like random enchantments.
This will make finding that perfect combination of enchantments on an item that much more rewarding.
Every once in a while, you’ll come across enchanted monsters, which are an ARPG staple. You will notice them immediately, as they will use magic tricks against you. These mobs can be anything from a simple skeleton to a massive spider.
So it is recommended to kill enchanted monsters first, because they deal the most damage than the rest of the regular monsters that use physical damage.
If you manage to kill such a mob, it can drop an enchantment it was using against you.
Doors between pitches
Finally, when you are ready to enter another part of the world, you will see a large door protecting the entrance to another section.
There’s no information if these gates will be heavily guarded or if there will be any other cool features, but these points of interest can play an important role in the game’s story, so keep an eye out for them.
