Yes, we still play Minecraft. Yes, we love it as much as ever, and yes, WePC’s Minecraft game hub is about to start growing in the attention that one of the greatest games of all time fully deserves.
So if there are some things you need to know, or even just forgot if you’re coming back to the game, you’ll be able to find what you need here.
What is Quick Charge in Minecraft?
Quick Charge is an enchantment that allows you to quickly reload a crossbow – something that’s super useful in hairy situations. Quick Charge will reduce the time it takes to reload the crossbow with arrows (or fireworks) from the usual 1.25 seconds to an incredible half second at the highest enchantment level.
loading time reduced by 0.25 seconds for each level of enchantment up to a maximum of three.
So, using some quick Minecraft math, we get:
- Unenchanted: 1.25 seconds
- Level 1: 1 second
- Level 2: 0.75 seconds
- Level 3: 0.5 seconds
How to Get Fast Charge in Minecraft
Quick Charge I and Quick Charge II can be obtained through loot in dungeons. You can also find them in fortresses. They can also be obtained using an enchantment table or by fishing.
Quick Charge III, on the other hand, takes a little more work and must be found by trading with a librarian in a village. To discover it in the wild, you need a little more luck and search in the chests of the pyramids of the desert or old mine shafts.
How to Use Quick Charge in Minecraft
Once your crossbow is enchanted, all you have to do is make it work normally. The crossbow will magically glow to emphasize that it contains an enchantment and from there you can simply enjoy the fruits of a much faster reload than before.
Minecraft fast charge maximum level
The maximum you can fast charge your crossbow to is level 3.
Minecraft Quick Charge Console Commands

If you want to speed things up even more and don’t want to be bothered with finding the enchantments yourself, you can always head to the Minecraft console by cheekily pressing the / key and, with a crossbow at the hand, enchant him. with the following commands.
/enchant @p quick_charge 1
/enchant @p quick_charge 2
/enchant @p quick_charge 3
If you prefer to enchant at your own pace rather than adding it directly to the crossbow, you can simply add an enchanted book to your inventory with the following command.
/give @p enchanted_book{StoredEnchantments:[{id:quick_charge,lvl:1}]} 1
When was Quick Charge added to Minecraft?
Quick Charge came to the Java Edition of Minecraft in version 1.14 (18w43a) and was added to the Bedrock Edition in Beta 1.8.0.10
