How to get capes in Minecraft Dungeons

Who doesn’t appreciate a little more personal touch to their Minecraft Dungeons hero? Thanks to capes and other cosmetics, players can significantly differentiate their avatar from others.

Currently, there are a total of eight caps in Minecraft Dungeons, with three more sets to be released when the first seasonal adventure season known as Cloudy Climb releases in early December.

Each cap has different requirements to unlock. Once the cosmetic is unlocked, heroes can equip the capes from their cosmetic menu in inventory. This screen also allows for equipping cosmetics such as non-combat pets, emotes, flairs, and more.

Out of the total group of cloaks, some can no longer be obtained or could not be earned from the start. However, some in the Minecraft Dungeons community have found ways to reintroduce these cloak cosmetics through the use of mods or other tools.

In the current version of Minecraft Dungeons, if a player is just beginning to collect capes, only four capes can be obtained, with that number increasing to seven when Cloudy Climb Seasonal Adventure is released with its Adventure Pass rewards.

Below, Minecraft Dungeons players can find a list of every cloak currently in the game, available or not. This list is completed with the flavor text of the cloak and the requirements to unlock and equip it:

Cloaks have existed in Minecraft Dungeons since its beta, with the initial group of cloaks in the game files being the Iron Golem, Hammer, Sinister, and Red Royal Cloaks. A slow drip of capes was released over time and in October 2021 the Cloudly Climb capes were first hinted at.

It’s not yet clear how these capes will be obtainable during the Cloudy Climb season, but many in the Minecraft Dungeons community have speculated that the rewards will be tied to the new Adventure Pass.

Functioning similarly to a Battle Pass, made popular in other games such as Fortnite, the Adventure Pass will see Minecraft Dungeons heroes complete both standard and time-limited challenges to rack up Adventure Points. These points will increase Adventure Pass levels and unlock rewards along the way like capes, but also cosmetics like non-combat pets, emotes, flairs, and more.
