How to Use Emotes in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition

Introduced in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition version 1.16, emotes are a fun new way to communicate between players that goes beyond just “shaking” using the standard click.

Seen in the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Character Creator, emotes can be acquired in a variety of ways and can be equipped to a player’s character. After equipping emotes, during gameplay, all players need to do to activate their emote menu is press “B” on their keyboard or left on the directional pad on their default console controller. This will open the in-game emote menu and allow players to select the emote they wish to run. That’s all we can say about it!

Minecraft: current emotes and how to unlock them

While some emotes are available by default in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, others will either require purchases or players must first achieve a certain achievement. There are currently a total of 26 different emotes, and their details and unlock conditions can be found below:

  • Wave – Available for free by default.
  • simple applause – Available for free by default.
  • The low! – Available for free by default.
  • Diamonds to you! – Unlocked by acquiring the “Diamonds to You!” Minecraft achievement (Throwing diamonds to another player).
  • The deck – Unlocked via the Minecraft achievement “Adventuring Time” (Discover 17 biomes).
  • The hammer – Earned by achieving the “Acquire Material” achievement (smelt an iron ore in the furnace and pick up the ingot).
  • This way! – Unlocked for the price of 310 Minecoins.
  • Chat – Unlocked at the cost of 160 Minecroins.
  • Break dance – Unlocked for the price of 660 Minecoins.
  • Disappointed – Unlocked at the cost of 160 Minecroins.
  • golf shot – Unlocked at the cost of 160 Minecroins.
  • Victory cheer – Unlocked for the price of 310 Minecoins.
  • sad sigh – Unlocked for the price of 310 Minecoins.
  • Kick ! – Unlocked for the price of 310 Minecoins.
  • The puncher – Free to unlock.
  • Dizzy – Unlocked for the price of 660 Minecoins.
  • Elytron – Unlocked for the price of 660 Minecoins.
  • Faceplant – Unlocked by acquiring the “Cow Tipper” achievement.
  • ghost dance – Unlocked for the price of 660 Minecoins.
  • Raise your shoulders – Unlocked at the cost of 160 Minecroins.
  • fake death – Unlocked by getting the “Cheat Death” achievement (Use the Totem of Undying).
  • cowpoke dance – Unlocked for the price of 660 Minecoins.
  • Bow – Unlocked at the cost of 160 Minecroins.
  • Ah Choo! – Unlocked for the price of 310 Minecoins.
  • bored – Unlocked at the cost of 160 Minecroins.
