Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Beta 1.19.0.28 Features New Music Disc and Tons of Changes

Minecraft is expected to gain a slew of new content later this year, but the update has yet to arrive. Mojang Studios is still developing the feature-rich version, and the Minecraft community is involved every step of the way. On Thursday, the studio released Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Beta 1.19.0.28 to interested players, and the changelog is incredibly long.

The new beta, which is also available for Minecraft Preview, continues to progress on The Wild Update, which is expected to release sometime in 2022. The content update will include new biomes, mobs, features and more for the pleasure of the players.

Highlights of the beta/preview duo include a new music disc to go along with the music included in the latest beta, and a myriad of tweaks and refinements for various other The Wild Update features like guardian, sculk, frogs , and more. In case you missed it, Mojang Studios also recently released a new Minecraft: Bedrock Edition patch update for all players.

Minecraft is one of the best Xbox games you can play, and players are encouraged to participate in the development process and submit feedback on upcoming features and changes.

Features and bug fixes

Spectator mode (experimental)

• Introducing the experimental spectator mode toggle
• Players can now try out early development builds of Spectator Mode by activating the experimental toggle
  • As a reminder, we won’t accept spectator mode related bug reports until we let you know, as the feature is subject to change a lot during development.
• Crowds no longer run away from players in spectator mode
• Spectator mode will no longer trigger Tripwire traps

• Added Fragment Disc 5 and Music Disc 5
  • Unlike other Discs, it can only be obtained by finding and crafting 9 Disc Fragments together
  • These Disc Fragments can be found rarely in chests in the Ancient City

The Guardian

• A few changes have been made to the Guardian’s ranged attack:
  • When using their ranged attack, vertical recoil now respects directionality
  • It will now bypass shields and armor and have a custom death message
  • It deals 10 damage instead of 30 damage and the cooldown has been reduced from 5 seconds to 2 seconds
• Guardians now drop a single Sculk Catalyst on death
• Guardian now increases anger (10 for infrequent projectiles and 35 for frequent projectiles) when distracted by projectiles
• Warden now reacts to non-arrow type projectiles
• Guardian can now be properly distracted by projectiles other than arrows
• Guardian now gets angry at all mobs that run into it

Sculpt

• Sculk Catalysts and Shriekers have the same explosion resistance as on Java
• Restored some Sculk-related sounds that were mistakenly removed
• Sculk Shrieker howling sound is now correctly classified as a block sound
• Sculk sensor on and off sounds are now correctly classified as blocking sounds
• Sculk sensor can now correctly detect a player using a fishing rod
• The Sculk Shrieker no longer displays z combat on any faces when held in hand or placed in item frames
• The plunger will not be able to push Sculk Shrieker, Sculk Sensor and Sculk Catalyst
• Cracking animation no longer appears around tendrils when extracting from Sculk Sensor

Mangrove

• Mangrove Propagule can no longer be fertilized indefinitely
• Mangrove trees no longer grow if the area above them is obstructed
• Merged mangrove_propagule_hanging in mangrove_propagule block and used a suspended block state instead
• Mangrove wood/log types now properly prevent leaf decay
• Brought mangrove tree foliage to parity with Java Edition
• Fixed an issue where mangrove trees would spawn without logs in the branches
• Fixed a bug that prevented most mangrove wood blocks from being affected by fire
• Non-mangrove saplings can now grow into full trees when ironed from bones to mud
• Mangrove Leaves now drop Leaf Blocks when harvested by Shears
• Campfires and smokers can now be crafted from all variants of mangrove wood

Allai

• It is now possible to take a stackable item from the Allay and add it to an existing stack
• Allay now has a new throwing sound

Frog

• Frogs no longer have trouble finding their way over mud blocks. To address this issue, until a proper pathfinding fix has been implemented, mud blocks will sink down entities more lightly.
• Fixed a bug where the frog’s mouth would fight with its head when eating slimes or magma cubes

• Froglight now properly drops when destroyed by any tool
• Froglight blocks now have the correct map colors
• Froglight blocks now have the correct break time

• Frogspawn is now broken by flowing water

Gameplay

• Mobs can no longer respawn on buttons
• Amethyst Clusters can no longer be placed on top of Sculk Shriekers and other blocks without top support, and can now be placed on blocks with bottom support as intended
• Fixed a bug where an undamaged tool, such as the pickaxe, when changing the name on an anvil, would not work correctly when used for the first time
• Minecart with Chest/Hopper/TNT recipes now inform
• Fixed an issue where taking heavy lethal damage with the Absorb effect enabled could cause Soft Lock

Vanilla parity

• Shulkers are now immune to fire
• Shulkers now stay upright in vehicles
• Shulkers no longer fail to appear when there is another Shulker on relative negative Y and X axes

Touch controls

• Player can now swipe movement directions to jump and not be interrupted when jumping and stealth are swapped on “classic” touch controls.

Chart

• Fixed sun direction not updating in RTX worlds

• Trader llamas can now spawn after being fed hay bales
• Merchant Llamas will no longer persist after being freed from the Wandering Merchant
