Minecraft: Bedrock New biomes introduced in the Wild update

The wild update for Minecraft: bedrock is now available on all platforms. The wild update features two new biomes for players to explore.

The first biome is called the Deep Dark found in the depths of the Overworld and is considered one of the scariest biomes in Minecraft: Bedrock. This biome has only one mob and it is none other than the guardian.

Although the Guardian is sleeping most of the time, this mob will be awakened once the Sculk Shrieker makes noise. Players should traverse the Deep Dark as quietly as possible, as sudden, rapid movements can trigger a sensor that triggers the Sculk Shrieker.

The other biome introduced in the wild update is the mangrove. This biome is riddled with towering trees, small saplings, large roots, and muddy terrain. This marsh is found in areas with naturally high temperatures and humidity. Players can go here and get mud to create a variety of mud brick blocks, such as stairs, slabs, and walls.

This patch also brings some changes to Spectator mode. Here are the highlights:

Activation and deactivation

Global interactions

  • Spectators pass through solid blocks and entities without any collision

  • Spectators can see solid objects

  • Spectators are unaffected by blocks, mobs, objects, portals, or game effects and cannot take damage

  • Portals are currently affecting spectators, but this is a bug we intend to fix in the future

  • Spectators cannot use items or interact with blocks or mobs (for example, they cannot attack, feed, mount, or trade with mobs)

  • Spectators can’t open their inventory or interact with block UIs like chests (this isn’t on par with Java yet)

User interface

  • Spectators have a reduced HUD that does not show crosshairs, hotbar, XP, health, hunger, or armor

Spectator bug fixes

  • Added custom input mapping for spectator mode

  • Spectators are now unable to attack

  • Spectators can no longer build

  • Spectators can no longer drop items

  • Spectators can no longer use items

  • Spectators can no longer open inventory

  • Spectators are now unable to interact with the world through inputs

  • Spectators can no longer interact with chests or other container UIs

  • Spectators no longer fly slowly when entering spectator mode from the ground
