Minecraft Dungeons can be played alone but seriously benefits from cooperative fun. Today during Minecraft Live, the developers revealed that cross-play Minecraft Dungeons will be coming later this year in a free update. This means that players on Xbox One, PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch can all join in the dungeon crawling action together.
Although there is no exact release date, the crossplay update is coming at some point in November, so players shouldn’t wait too long. Minecraft Dungeons is also available to play through Xbox Cloud Gaming through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and even supports touch controls.
Minecraft Dungeons has continued to grow since its launch, with the release of the Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter DLCs. More endgame updates and features are planned, as is future DLC. There’s plenty of other news coming out of Minecraft Live whether you like Minecraft or not, like the next Caves and Cliffs update slated for release in summer 2021 or the Howling Peaks DLC for Minecraft Dungeons.
