Minecraft Dungeons officially adds cross-play support and confirms that cross-save is coming soon

Minecraft Dungeons is a great game to play with friends, but it’s been crippled by its lack of cross-play support in the past. Recently we learned that crossplay is definitely coming to Minecraft Dungeons, and now it’s a reality. The free crossplay update is rolling out today for every platform, connecting everyone through Minecraft Dungeons in the same way as its older sibling, Minecraft. Once the update is downloaded, you’ll be able to play with friends on Xbox, Windows, Playstation, and Switch, without platform limitations spoiling the fun.

It’s great to finally see this update build and hopefully it will be much easier to play with friends in Minecraft Dungeons which is really where the game shines (playing solo can be a bit boring ). However, there’s a second piece of news that’s been revealed alongside the crossplay update: cross-save support is coming to Minecraft Dungeons. Another weakness of Minecraft Dungeons is how save files can’t be transported across multiple platform lines either, and sadly that’s not changing today.

However, Mojang Studios has confirmed that cross-save support is coming to Minecraft Dungeons. soon in a free update, but did not provide an exact release date. Either way, it’s great to hear that Minecraft Dungeons is finally getting all the multiplayer and platform-independent features it probably should have had at launch.
