Minecraft Dungeons release date delayed, but not for long

Minecraft Dungeons was originally slated for a vague April release date, but now that’s changed a bit. Mojang has just announced the dungeon-crawler spin-off of its acclaimed block builder will be released a month later, on May 26.

This is a simultaneous launch for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One (including Game Pass), PlayStation 4, and PC. Minecraft Dungeons won’t initially have full cross-play support, but the team plans to implement it in the future.

It’s unclear why there was a delay for the game. Still, it’s barely a month late, so the cause probably wasn’t too serious.

Dungeons looks worthy of interest. The development team has released several dev diary videos highlighting various aspects of Minecraft Dungeons‘ gameplay over the past few months. We have seen all care given to Minecraft Dungeons‘ sound designas well as the challenges of balance levels to reward single and multiplayer styles.
