Minecraft Dungeons is a family dungeon crawler developed by Mojang Studios and Double Eleven. Minecraft Dungeons can be considered the Diablo clone you’d play if you want to acclimate yourself to the genre. There’s the main villain, the Arch-Illager, who wreaked havoc on the world and you’ve got your party of merry heroes, albeit pre-made with different skin tones and hairstyles, with plenty of gear to choose from. find, buy and collect.
Minecraft Dungeons Honestly, it was a game I didn’t know I had to play. I’ve played many dungeon crawlers, from Diablo to Grim Dawn, and the one thing most games have in common is a “Mature” rating due to the graphical nature of the game. However, it there is no gore in Minecraft Dungeons, not even when killing passive mobs like foraging pigs and cows to replenish your health. The story is quite light: an ousted villager finds a powerful artifact and seeks revenge on those who have offended him. Your hero’s task is to enter and stop the villager.
As you explore the massive maps, looking for loot, enemies, arrows, and chests, you may come across hidden dungeons or areas of interest that hide hidden levels or even act as traps for players. While the latter is a possibility, it’s just as fun trying to survive the outcome.
heroes in Minecraft Dungeons has no class. Everyone equips a melee weapon, ranging from the standard, trusty sword to fast-swinging daggers, different armors with their own set of default perks, and a variety of different bows. You can also equip up to three Artifacts that come in many flavors like AOE skills from Firework Arrow or Soul Harvester to a Healing Totem or even a Fishing Rod that stuns enemies. Using all of these items allows players to create their own unique hero. Couple all of this with the enchantment system and you’ll create wacky builds throughout the game. under”. You can find the same weapon multiple times, but each weapon comes with different enchantments, which leads to a whole new way of approaching the game. is not without challenges. Mini-bosses and bosses aren’t just something to laugh at; they are quite beefy and have very powerful skills and mechanics. You should expect to die against them or at the very least have to run away until you can pop a potion or use a healing totem artifact. Keep in mind that these bosses get more powerful as you progress through the difficulty of the world, but so does your potential gear.
There is both local and online co-op, which feels like games Minecraft Dungeons were made for my personal opinion. I say this because there are areas in certain levels that outnumber you and make you say, “Man, I wish I had someone to play with.” Plus, while playing co-op, if you ever get separated from the action, you can still use the teleport feature and the superhero will fall into the fray with your friends. Unfortunately, PC to Xbox crossplay doesn’t seem to be working yet, but hopefully they fix it in the next upcoming update.
There is a lot to do in Minecraft Dungeons and it’s awesome. There is also something called Island Realms which is not currently available to players. I’m curious to see what it will be, and also hope it adds a huge amount of replayability to this already fun game.
