Release date
Minecraft Legends is slated for release in 2023. Mojang hasn’t announced a specific date yet, but we’ll likely see it before next July. The game has been included in Microsoft’s roundup of games released over the next 12 months – although there’s always the possibility of a delay if Mojang needs a bit more time to polish the game. product.
Platforms
Mojang may have been acquired by Microsoft a long time ago, but the team is still dedicated to launching cross-platform titles. This trend continues with Minecraft Legends, which is expected to come to PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It will also be playable via Xbox Game Pass.
Trailers
There has only been one official trailer released for Minecraft Legends. It is just over two minutes long and offers viewers some gameplay snippets along with plenty of cinematic footage.
During the Xbox Games Showcase Extended 2022 press event, Dennis Ries, Executive Producer at Mojang, commented on the trailer and revealed some additional details.
Nintendo revealed a bit more gameplay during a recent Direct Mini, although we didn’t learn much more about the game. Instead, we just got a few more battle plans and another look at the world that players will explore next year.
Gameplay
Minecraft Legends is an action strategy game. It takes place in the norm Minecraft universe and features the same blocky graphics as the original Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons. Unlike those games, however, this one is all about strategic combat.
“Inspire unexpected friends to form valuable alliances and lead them into strategic battles to protect their home,” reads a statement posted on the official website. Minecraft Legends website. “Lead the fight against the piglins before their Nether corruption devours the Overworld!”
The reveal trailer showed a character riding through a variety of biomes – placing flags to (ostensibly) summon their troops and taking on massive waves of enemies in real-time combat. There also seems to be a bit of crafting, with the player watching a structure slowly build in front of them. It’s unclear how much crafting and building will play into the game, but the strategic combat and large-scale encounters seem to be the main attraction.
The same was shown in the Nintendo Direct Mini, which gave fans another look at the outside world and its large-scale battles. He also mentioned the same 2023 release date as before, so hopefully the Switch version drops along with all the other platforms.
Until we get an in-depth look at the gameplay, that’s about all we can say for sure about it. Minecraft Legends. It’s a radically different type of game to anything in the franchise, and we expect to hear more about its progress in the months to come.
Multiplayer
Minecraft Legends will feature both cooperative and competitive multiplayer. There’s no indication of how this will play out, but it’s good to know that some form of multiplayer is included in the game. If we had to guess, we’d say co-op play will be a form of drop-in action for the main campaign, while competitive matches will play out as one age of empires match – each side building an army and doing everything in their power to eradicate their enemies.
Pre-order
No pre-order is available for Minecraft Legends right now. However, you can know more about the game by visiting its official website. There is also a long blog post that talks a bit more about the world of Minecraft Legends and what to expect from its history.
