The Minecraft universe is constantly evolving, and its community is growing with it. Mojang Studios, the creators and masterminds of Minecraft, hold a livestream every year to discuss the near future of the Minecraft franchise, and the date for the highly anticipated 2022 show has just been confirmed.
Minecraft Live 2022 will air on October 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. CT/12:00 a.m. ET, and will give excited players a preview of everything coming to Minecraft next year. Minecraft Live 2021, for example, revealed Minecraft “The Wild Update,” the first seasonal adventure in Minecraft Dungeons and the arrival of Minecraft: Java Edition on PC Game Pass.
It’s unclear exactly what we’ll see during Minecraft Live 2022, and Mojang Studios’ epic, boppy trailer released alongside the announcement doesn’t give us too many clues. It’s safe to say that we’ll learn more about the next major content update for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition. Minecraft fans will also be able to take part in a new crowd vote to decide on a mob addition to Minecraft; this vote will take a different form than before, with participants having a full 24 hours to vote through a variety of means.
We know players can expect to see both Minecraft Dungeons and upcoming Minecraft Legends during the event. Minecraft Dungeons may announce its next seasonal adventure, while Minecraft Legends may give us other gameplay previews or other elements of the planned action-strategy title. We may see Minecraft: Education Edition, updates to staggering Minecraft player and usage stats, new partnerships, and other surprises we can’t imagine. Nothing is on the table, but we will have to wait for the event to confirm anything.
Either way, we know Minecraft Live 2022 will feature some of the greatest Xbox games of all time – and perhaps an upcoming addition to the much-vaunted roster. Mark your calendars, because the show will air on October 15, 2022 on YouTube and the Minecraft website.
