As Minecraft looking to continue adding more content to the already historically popular game, they announced a collaboration with Disney to bring Buzz Lightyear into Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Mojang and Disney are working together to celebrate the upcoming release of the Buzz Lightyear movie, which hits theaters on June 17.

The Lightyear DLC pack will guide players through the origin story timeline of Buzz Lightyear and his crash landing on an alien planet. The DLC pack will come with a Lightyear-themed character creator item. There will be five different missions for players to complete in many different environments including a jungle, swamp, mine, and several other alien colonies. In a blog post on the Minecraft websiteit is said that “Throughout each mission, you must navigate the terrain while fighting enemies and multiple bosses using various gadgets. Between missions, you fly different planes and must avoid obstacles to reach your next goal safely. Although ‘safe’ is a very relative term on an inhospitable alien planet.”

The DLC pack costs 1,340 Minecoins on the Minecraft Marketplace, which works out to around $10 when switched to USD. According to the blog post, the DLC pack is currently not available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch and can only be played on Minecraft: Bedrock. Although currently unavailable, Mojang said the DLC pack will be coming to Switch soon.
